So much has happened since my last post. First of all we celebrated New Years Eve by passing the milestone of 27 weeks and 4 days of when Malia was born. That was a wonderful feeling to pass that day and feel confident that history is not going to repeat itself. We started this week out with our 28 week ultrasound. We found out that baby boy is progressing perfectly, even measuring a week ahead of schedule. He is now a whopping 2 pounds, 7 ounces! That is a full pound larger than Malia at birth and almost her size when she came home from the NICU. Which is amazing to me. I am so baffled that Malia came through it all so perfectly ... I look at her and remember all these memories of her in the hospital and how tiny she was and how hard she fought to breathe and eat. How hard it was for my body to produce milk with her coming so early and my body just not being ready and how much I struggled to give her every drop of breast milk for more than a year. I just cant believe it all turned out ok and she is so perfect at 5 years old. My beautiful girl is very happy to be a big sister, she talks to my belly every day if not several times a day. Usually saying "Hi baby, how ya doing in there? Are you warm? Are you happy? Do you like your food? I'm your big sister and I'm going to teach you everything." This is a very sweet time, I'm almost actually enjoying this :) Being pregnant is not my favorite thing but now I'm experiencing things Ive never experienced before. Baby boy moves a lot, his kicks are strong ... you can see my belly rise and fall with them. Morgan and Malia put there hands on my belly often to feel him kicking all the time now. Last night Morgan was feeling him and his kicks were so hard Morgan's hands were rising and falling with them. I can feel he is a strong healthy boy. I never felt Malia barely at all. So there are things about this pregnancy that are really fun. In our ultrasound baby boy looked like a baby in there, you could tell he has added fat to his bones and he was drinking water .. we got to see him opening and closing his mouth over and over .. truly amazing.
I had my RH negative shot in my butt his week and a total of six blood draws to check my glucose. Im eating very low sugar and carb so hopefully all is well. We dont find out the results until next Monday.
